I’m so excited for you as you study the minor prophet, Amos. I know this can feel overwhelming on so many levels. The Old Testament can feel scary and the prophets of the Old Testament can be confusing. The times and the cultures are all so foreign and it could leave us trying to make sense of it all. It would be easy for these factors to cause us to stall a few weeks into the study. So, I wanted to provide a resource that would help you get into the book of Amos with confidence.

Church tradition has had different views regarding the location of Jesus on what is commonly referred to as "Silent Saturday." But what was silent in an earthly context was far from it in a spiritual context. In this resource, Dr. Joel walks through some difficult passages (Eph 4:8-9; Acts 2:27; 1 Peter 3:18-20) and helps us make sense of them to figure out where Jesus actually was, what he was doing, and why this is so relevant to us today.

We created this resource so you can be equipped to know what the Bible says and have the confidence to know where to turn in God’s Word when questions arise about End Times. The term for this study is “Eschatology,” which means: The study of theology dealing with death, judgment and the final destiny of humanity and creation. Eschatology comes from the Greek word Eschatos —which is translated as “last.” That is where we get “the study of last things or end times.”
